Australia Day….

The koala who resides in our backyard.
She has been here all summer.
She sleeps a lot and climbs up to eat the fresh green leaves high up.
She licks the bark during the rain.
Surprisingly agile and has amazing balance.
In big winds she nestles in the bigger, lower branches.
When a male comes to call there is always  lots of growling and screeching.
She tends to spend more time in the smaller, higher branches,
as he is too big and heavy to get to her up there.
We have had an education into the life of a koala.

This Australia day may you find peace where you live.
Our family is relaxing and celebrating that we live in a place with no war,
we can afford our home and share food with friends on a gloriously sunny day.
When i pay attention to the simple things of life, i smile.
The koala in the tree has no worries, neither do i.

They gave their lives....

Earlier in the year we were in our country's capital and
everyone had told us to go and see the War Memorial & Museum there.
Now i am not a big fan of any kind of glorification of war.
I know people go to war, governments chose to fight and
i am free and prosperous because i do not live in a country in conflict.

I am a sensitive person, aware of the rich history of war in my own genealogy.
My children have great grandparents from at least 6 different countries.
Humans have always been nomads.
Moving from place to place, walking across countries,
away from persecution, toward exile and safety.
That has been true for our own families.
I walk with the knowledge of these histories with me each day.
I try not to take the abundance i have for granted.
So we went at the end of a busy day.
The museum was closing.
I find the information within war museums very difficult.
Having travelled around the world i have been unable
to enter some places for the grief and energy that has overwhelmed me.
I know they are vital to keep war away, educating and reminding us of all that is lost.
The horror that we humans can inflict and endure.
But mainly i know that the reflection on the human spirit is strong in place like this.
A focus on the bravery, tenacity, justice and prevailing desire for freedom and peace.
I feel it all.

The walls are lined with the names of Australian fallen men and women,
who have given their lives.
The poppies stain the walls red by loved ones, friends and admirers.
Too many lives, my chest felt tight.
We walked towards the tomb of the unknown soldier.

Inside a silent reverence prevails.
A blanket of emotions, prickly and all-consuming.
Like a church, with no one denomination.
Here is a place for everyone.
Tears flow freely for those lost, in time, in places unknown.
Their names blowing in the breeze of eternity.

At this time my family were not Australian.
Their land was torn apart by 2 armed forces.
One a liberator, then an oppressor.
I am overcome with emotion thinking of my own ancestors.

I am devastated by 4 words....

THEY GAVE THEIR LIVES

Etched into the stone above the mausoleum.

The pool of remembrance, sparkles with silver from the coins holding wishes
for peace, liberty, justice and hope.
My hope is that our children will remember this place,
our conversations and the feelings they had while here.
The eternal flame burns in the pool.
I am reminded that anything is possible.
May the angels of the past continue to inspire creative solutions
towards everlasting peace and goodwill toward all people.

In Australia it is ANZAC Day on the 25th of April.
A national day of remembrance, i will say a a silent little prayer of thanks, because i can.
Will you?

May you sparkle brightly,
and twirl every chance you get,
because you can.

Light up your life...

The tree is up and lights are on.
Last week of school & work.
Holidays are booked.
The festive season is upon us.
Focus on the togetherness, connectedness and forgiveness.
May you be gifted with all that your heart desires.
Deep peace, open arms, soft kisses, squealing & happy children,
full tummies and a soft place to land.
I don't know who you are,
but you are cherished,
you are unique,
you are Divine.
So am i.
Important to remember at this time,
when we can be so easily distracted.

wishes do come true.......

iv'e been doing a bit of dreaming in the last few weeks. day dreaming, talking about dreams, plotting and planning the course of dreams and how to be in my own dreams. i only just realised framing a dream without you in it is quite pointless. it becomes too hard and not dreamy like.

i look for people dreaming and living their dreams. we are all in the middle of them, on our way to them, holding back from them and collapsing into bed to make some. i love to nap, just incase a dream is waiting for me. often they can be shy and wait for you to be still and quiet long enough for them to reveal themselves to you. i am learning to be kinder and gentler with my dreams & myself.

these are some amazing women dreamers who inspire me....
denise's ladies are delightful
christine arylo and her self love studio series are gifts 4 sure

my wish for us is to wander through our inspirations daily and share whats in our hearts bravely.
now, i wish for deep, restful sleep, dreams of skipping and painting and the tinkling laughter of my children, the hearty embraces of my beloveds and carefree dreams, from which i will awaken refreshed and enthusiastic to start my day .

today....

all quiet on the southern front....
i have just opened up to the silence of my household.
kids in bed, home alone, the only sounds are the hum of the fridge and tick of the clock.
i gladly receive this today.
i needed it. not a great day 4 me today. hard to be flexible, not grouchy and receiving of good things. i guess just cause i picked a word doesn't mean i would become light and love personified. but would have been nice.
i have had one of those days that you are glad when they are done.
i love that i made these today, but no so in love with the fact i had to say "no" all day, as the kids wanted to eat all of them.
maybe tomorrow if it looks like its gonna be another" one of those days" i let them eat the lot....
my prediction is that 2morro will be a better day...
twirling off into the twilight....

clarity, simplicity, then freedom....

'we may not be sure who we are becoming or where we are going but we are clear about what we dont like and who we dont want to become ... and thats the beginnning of understanding' thanks anon for your quote.

i'm getting good at knowing what i don't want. it seems a negative way of approaching life, and yet it works. by eliminating certain things, what's left is more manageable and what i desire comes into focus. we live in a time where choice is overwhelming. the details we have to pick from , to buy a sandwich is mind-boggling.... the simplicity that comes with less is very appealing. greater choices came from greater freedom, yet the vast choices are too much and we have to practice freeing ourselves and moving towards a simpler life.
weird, huh?
my brain hurts now.

All is well in my world....

We are not alone.

The world is changing,

and we are part of that transformation.

The angels guide and protect us.

The Valkyries_ Paulo Coehlo

Today out of the blue, on the stairs,

my son turned to me and said,

"Thankyou mum, i love you."

with a kiss on the cheek he was away.

WOW

He knew and was sharing his insightful gratitude

for all that had been for him.

again, all i can say is WOW
