Good morning, sunshine...

i was awoken by the chirpy birds outside my window this morning. they were loud. there was super vigour in their chirpiness. i had not heard bird song in the morning for a long time.
there was joy in their song. on opening my eyes i could see sunshine.
deep breath in. big sigh out. smile.

all seems better in the sunshine. i have become a freak for the sun. i have never been a sun worshiper, but i'm a devotee today.
so let the sunshine in....
my aunt is doing better. her op went well. she is back to her feisty self, red marker in hand. apparently her notes are full of attitude, and no one would have it any other way. a long recovery is ahead, it looks bright.

so to her, you and me,
lets listen to these today...

A wintery day in the burbs....

when you wake up and you know it is 2degrees (C), you really don't want to spring out of bed, do you? sunny days but deceptively freezing. now i don't mean the northern hemisphere snow and ice freezing but extremely cold never the less. frost on the shaded oval grass is lovely snowy white. we don't actually get snow here. i am quite glad for that. am not much of a snow bunny. i enjoy the change of seasons, and love the evenings after big days playing in the world, warm baths, fires, snuggly children, flannelet pyjamas, blankets, movie nights, oh and every 4 years the world cup.

my husband and i got together during the '98 world cup. my education in world football began. i was hooked. i had always been an Aussie Rules Football kinda girl. but i was converted and haven't looked back. my husband is from France and they won the '98 cup. very exciting. so 12 years on we have come a long way from those heady passionate long sleepless nights. but world cup (and a new relationship) does that to you. not much sleep, lots of enthusiasm, hopes and TV viewing together. in Australia as the games are held in other parts of the world the time differences are the most unforgiving. games all through the night. men walk around the country all month in a strange sleep deprived daze. cute. this year South Africa has been a wonderful host. the extremes of this amazing land are apparent. oh the vuvuzelas, are deafening, a swarm of football wasps, relentless throughout each game!!!!!! the highs and the lows of winning and losing. deep philosophy in every game....

am "giving up the ghost" by brandi carlile in the car all day. kids and i play DREAMS really loud.

what do you love at the moment?

Favourite things....

when i'm feeling sad, i simply remember my favourite things and then i don't feel so bad....
feeling bit under the weather, flu-like symptoms or just not able to manage my energy very well. it is an issue i've had for as long as i can remember. my own-work for my e-couse is wanting me to dig around in my patterns of energy. an i am resisting. my self is stamping their immature foot in protest and saying NO. this is not a good sign when i am trying to process my stuff to get my dream on its way, and practicing willingness & YES. a small two-letter stumbling block. ok i'll be friends with it , tomorrow. after a good sleep i'll feel better.

oh, by the way the reference to favourite things is due to the boys in my house learning to play it on the piano. sounds nice. makes me happy. even with the thunder storms, cold setting in and and a mouse in my garage.... grrr

i just haven't met you yet.....

i love this song and it seems quite true for my life

i have made some new friends through the SARK e-course i am doing. it seems so strange. can you really get to know anyone through the ether of the internet? i never thought so. what i have found that when you put people together with a common focus, a creative focus, almost anything is possible.

i have done workshops in the past and loved the energy that shared learning created. surprisingly i feel this way through this course. the open willingness and sharing, that strangers have decided to trust one another with their scary, fragile, vulnerable bits, is truly special. it is so wonderful to share learning. when i have done any learning alone it can be so hard for family & friends to understand what is going on for you. but connecting with other people and a real sense that you are not alone is really important. i have found a sprinkling of it. i am blessed.

so much is swirling and spiraling, in my head and life. i feel tired, that eyeballs hurt kind of tired by the end of the day, but my day is so very full of creative energy. i just feel so alive. YES

i have in the last few years felt the newness of family deplete me, in someways. but now i feel i will have more to give. i'm filling my cup, letting the overflow spill over my children, husband, family & friends. i am saying YES to my life. all of it, the mess and embracing the people & all the wonderfulness just for me. i can be selfish and take all the love thrown my way. i am learning to ask for what i need, and by doing this i'm not so grumpy. fancy that. i was grumpy all the time from my own inability to know what i needed and then when i did i had no voice. so i'm singing loud and proud.....
all you need is lurve, lurve, love love, love is all you need........
i love this one too
can't go past john, ever

twinkle little stars of my life, where ever you shine, my life is brighter for your illumination

to be a princess or not to be.....

how do you get a 3 year old not to like princess stuff when its so cute, pretty and sweet
we love this song but i hate what it tells little girls
everyone can be their own princess , princes are not always necessary
nice
but the purpose of our existance is not to be completed by our prince or the be saved by one
lets complete & save ourselves
