Storm...

Thunder & lightning. Loud & gorgeous out my window. Love the slow, long growl of the thunder, then the sharp, crack of light. A flash in the dark, illuminating the blackness, for a second. Then it is gone. The rain is pouring down. Washing away the pollen and dust of spring.

Today the jacarandas rained purple flowers down on me as I waited for my kids after school. The poor bees dodged feet as they tried to find the last of the pollen from the fallen blooms. They seemed lost.

My final observation for the day is the weird thing my dog does when we go for a walk. At the end of our street we cross the road to the opposite footpath. There is a small historic cemetery and one house. Then there is a large road to cross the the parklands. This is the weird part, we get to the end of the street & she won't walk on the opposite footpath. Refuses. Lies down. Digs her paws in. Can't budge her. The only way she will walk down to the park is on the road, once she is at the curb of the larger road she is fine, until we get back to the same spot. Weird, huh? Any thoughts?

Botanic Gardens Rock!

rainbow coloured flowers

i love our city's botanical gardens
my kids love 'em, hubby too.
there is always so much to discover.
with hubby's new canon we are investigating
on the micro level & the macro settings.

it was a glorious day to be out
skipping down the paths,
twirling with the pollen,
flitting with the butterflies,
swooping like the birds,
splashing in the fountains,
wafting with the fragrances,
dancing in the wind.

you should go to your local bg. soon
it rocks!

sparkle & twirl,
pretty ones.

Anything is possible...

its really windy here, today. spring is blowing in to let us know she is here. don't be deceived by the grey skies and sideways rain, she is no longer on her way.
it is now spring and the winds of possibility are swirling all about us.

when anything is possible, it can feel overwhelming.
expanse, openness, void, space, time, hope and angry sideways rain.
deep down there is a calm place, it is not swayed by whats going on, on the surface.
to rest in the peace of possible is not common.
to quietly sit and hold hands with your dreams makes me feel vulnerable.
so i resist and feel scared of the possibilities waiting for me.
to leap
trust
shine
create
and not be swayed away from the anchor of my calm centre
will take some attention and practice.
the pull is strong to do what i have always done,
be how i think i should be
& please because everyone else matters more.
as i stand at my gates of possibility there are many options,
an assortment of portals to choose to enter.
to stand back and just watch is not enough anymore.
risk
go for it
be brave
fall
and get back up again
so off i go, lets see what comes
the
possibilities
are
endless...

could it be spring? yes, please.....

i went for a walk and wondered where this path would lead.
there is nothing more wonderous than to find a path,
begin a journey not knowing where it will lead.
an adventure is under foot.
then the sun came out...
i saw that spring was on its way...

and there before me was another path....

the sun had gone but something was waiting to bloom...

and with a closer look, it had already begun...

and my heart sang as the rain sprinkled my face,

i saw a rainbow later as i drove my kids home from school
but i had seen much more colour on my adventure,
the start of spring, in the heart of winter...

sparkles & twirls people,
sparkles & twirls...

ps for all you birdie peeps, there were birds today.
3rainbow lorakeets fighting, their colours blazing in a tree;
2ducks wading through a bog;
a regal magpie picking out worms from the grass;
and a curious sleek raven, gorgeous and black...
sorry, no pics because i'm not that good a photographer.
so i stayed in the moments. loving the great outdoors...
