Markets….

are a mystery….

They have existed as long as humans have exchanged goods for money.
A community is created in a collective of strangers who set up their stalls, side by side.
It was a wonderful Moonlight Market that i had my 1st stall at.
I met such a variety of people, was so supported by my family and friends and challenged to do new, unfamiliar things.

this is my work

i was inspired by this card in the range….
(not my art work)

 setting up…

 my lane…

my gorgeous sister-in law helped me set up…..
she is amazing…

had a special offer...

stock with price points...

mums helping too...

moi...

people come to have a look...

lots of people at the markets...

gorgeous sunset across the park...

chatting with customers...

night falls...

big lanterns light the park, and a little bit of moon shone through...

everyone dined alfresco….

stock went down with sales...

it was a good night…

markets are not always about sales.
they are a great way to meet people, talk to them about your product and be part of a collective.
it will be interesting to see how the mystery unfolds,
what comes from the conversations, sales and being open to ones own vulnerability.

In the days leading up to the this night, the changing weather was a big stressor to me.
Note: markets are not for the faint hearted. it is not an easy way of selling anything.
being an introvert makes approaching potential customers uncomfortable,
all the noise & stimulation can be exhausting & there is no place to hide.

as someone who likes to feel in control of their lives, through a lot of well made plans,
i practiced SURRENDERING my fears around weather & unknown elements all day.
I worked in my day job for 6hrs prior to setting up for a 6hr market experience.
It was a big day with many magical, mysterious gifts of love, generosity, serendipity and openness.
I am grateful for the lessons that came to me on this day.
the next one will be easier.
i will be easier on myself next time.
i give thanks to the sparkles and twirls.
