Her sparkle faded on sunday 15th february 2009. Now she has gone, gone, gone....

How do you say goodbye.....

she is still here. it is still her. the curve of the finger, the roundness of her nails, the bands turned on now bony ring finger, still smooth, i am reminded of the grandmother who has hugged me, held my hand, sewed and knit things fo me all with those hands.

i remember her hands kneeding dough, that became sweet little buns, wringing tea towels, and moisturiser in those hands, those hands have been awfully busy for 88 years.

and soon they will only be in my memory, gone, with her.
i will miss her and her beautiful hands
