Know where to find the sunrise and sunset times
and note how the sky looks at those times,
at least once.
~Marilyn vos Savant
This is the view when we wake up. It is surprising how gorgeous it is.
The sunrises back home and some days i may notice but not everyday.
Being here makes us want to get the most of our experience which means the sunrise is great.
I wonder as the winter approaches if it will be like this everyday?
Will it change? Will i tire of checking?
So until i tire of this view, i am sharing it happily, eagerly and with gratitude.
I returned to bed to see the moon out the window.
Kids always ask "why does the moon shine in the daytime.?"
Just lucky, i guess. For me today anyway.
When evening came we decided to go out for dinner.
It is one way we feel like we are on holidays.
We wandered into the town, a balmy evening, a glorious sky.
"When I admire the wonder of a sunset or the beauty of the moon,
my soul expands in worship of the Creator. ~Mahatma Ghandi
The day was busy. The walk was filled with lots of pauses.
We were not the only ones looking toward the sky tonight.
The river banks were lined with people gathered, watching the sun set.
Sharing a drink or some food, lovers stealing an embrace and
dogs greeting each other the way dogs do (kids noticed this of course).
There were many crossing the bridge with us, on their way to dinner,
to meet friends, going home or a class.
Heart the lamp posts too.
The little crown bits at the top. So regal.
Then i noticed they have these metal tags with numbers.
But the detail, love this.
Even the pillar tells a story.
Years and layers of paint.
Planes coming & going.
Leaving smokey scars across the skyline.
Streaking the sky with interesting patterns.

but to add color to my sunset sky.”
