Another year older and what have you done?

This is my gorgeous friend turning 40.

Me 41.

I thought i would feel different to the way i do.

i feel like time is running out. 

i have wasted so much time in doubt and struggle. 

worried and scared.

but i am getting that sense of living your life on my own terms.

cause thats all there is. 

i am a mess, broken, fragile, loud and frazzled.

i am also kind, friendly, creative, a dreamer, explorer, control freak and in love with my dog.

all of who i am does not always fit nicely together.

i am not an easy person to live with.

i am interesting and worthwhile.

this was my 40th year to SHINE.

there were moments of sparkle, bit of tarnish too.

i don't know whats in store for me in 2012, 

but it will be more of the same plus some extra adventures. 

the woman above and i have been friends since we were little children 

i love her and how we share our lives, the joys and challenges.
