where has the colour gone?

i noted that i uploaded this collage to flickr on 22nd of June. It is now approaching the end of August and i can think of ONLY 2 sunfilled days. grey, grey go away come again next winter!
the brief, fleeting rainbows aren't even doing it for me these days....

grey seeps in and makes me feel cold, even with the heating on. luckily this weekend i am celebrating a friend turning 40. we have been friends for 26years. that is so cool. to have known someone for that long and still love them to bits and pieces. she is getting braver and setting up a blog. will be celebrating that with her and you very soon. this is one of hers....

(a teeny teena treat)
this girl is gorgeous and so are her pics
HAPPY BIRTHDAY
dear friend
I celebrate YOU.

Another grey note: my aunt has just had surgery today. took 8hrs & many skilled, amazing people and lots of prayers. It is her birthday tomorrow. she will most likely still be unconscious and in ICU. so i ask you to lift a glass and toast her. she is an amazing woman who knows how to celebrate life. i look forward to her recovery so that we may celebrate her and what a life this is.

I was listening to Amy Ahlers recently and one of her brilliant insights revealed to me that when you worry you can't love. so i choose love. i send it to my extended family in cups, buckets, skips, lorries & shipping containers. may these vessels overflow with love and flood us all with comfort, relief and some peace in these uncertain times...

to the angels: i lay my faith at your feet and my heart in your hands...
