A town called Cassis....

A wonderful place for a summer beach holiday.

All roads lead to ......

A sparkling little harbour...

Mysterious archway, now a courtyard wall. 

Interesting alleys, with sky gardens.

Ah, 

Arghh. 

The view, day & night.

 Boat cruise to see the calanques, the inlets and grottos along the rocky coast.

Quite stunning, unusual and wonderful.

 Magic on the water.

 Thoughts of home, family who love boats & water, Australian places, far away.
 Breath-taking.

 The rock formations form their own spires, which look like natures churches.

So beautiful.

 The light cracks the heat haze and everything sparkles.

 Splashing through the water, cools our faces and makes us laugh & laugh.

 Evening in the harbour has a wonderful, festive atmosphere.

 Night swimming a highlight for the kids.

 I left a little note for tomorrows sun bathers to discover.

This is the back of one of the most popular boulangeries in town.

 It is hundreds of years old. Been pumping out the "good" bread everyday.

At the front always a line of people. 

Palettes of flour and steel wracks, the open door the only breeze, 

reflecting a working jewel of Cassis.

A special discovery. 

The cafe always good, smiling boy seeing his name on the cup, 

last bite of the croissant and we are done.

The year of the Rabbit..

Like a rabbit i have been hopping along nicely for a while.

I am starting to have that feeling of the white rabbit, "i'm late, i'm late.....".

The summer holidays seemed to end so suddenly:

back to school,

with my daughter starting her schooling life.

i haven't really had time to feel it,

as it was her 5th birthday to celebrate this week,

with a fairy party to organise,

while working also.

How do people do this?

i have been doing dream lab, but not as much as i would like,

started reading Brene Brown's book (which is really good),

have hardly picked up a paint brush or pencil,

and feel like crawling into my burrow and sleeping for a week.

maybe this is just the blues after such a wonderful summer holiday.

we travelled to Sydney and had a great week.

these are a few of my favourite things:

the sydney aquarium

they have this huge tank with a massive glass wall.

the little fishes, so colourful

it was so tranquil and beautiful.

Darling Harbour carrousel,

they loved picking out their own horse

and holding on with out me beside them...

my gorgeous husband and his little girl

...such happiness...

my family at the beach....

my kids with my 93yr old grandfather.

i did read a couple of fab books.

Lake of Dreams, thanks to Pipi La La's recommendation,

it was the best book iv'e read since the Guernsey Literary & Potato Peel Pie Society .

i love it when you find a book that really speaks to you.

it is so colourful and vivid.

so back to the rabbit, i will try to capture the serenity of a calm bunny,

and move from the frantic rabbit that has begun twitching.

to remember the lovely feelings of the last few weeks and reside there.

...the job hunting, grieving and laundry will have to wait for another day.

going on a holiday...

you may think i am already away on a holiday. we actually go to Sydney tomorrow for a week. sun, blue water everywhere and family to catch up with. i get to see my BFF, bonus!

can't wait to see how the kids embrace this adventure before school starts.

super fun, here we come.

ps we have already been to the museum, trip on the buses, swimming lessons, playing with friends, sleepovers at nana's(kids, not me), library adventures, movies and more imaginative games than you can count.

living, not blogging...

i would like to be one of those bloggers who have a purpose, something to say and commitment to being regular with their posts. spring is here and it is crazy busy. plus my poor old computer is dying. maybe it just knows it is being upgraded to a lovely mac. (i think it can hear me and its feelings are hurt.)

so i'm following meandering paths that lead to unknown places. like Alice i am curious about so many things these days...

i am grateful for this laptop it has been a saving grace too many times. without it i could not have been so brave to say i am a budding artist. so i give thanks to this wonderful technology. my children will enjoy you for a long time to come (once you are fixed).

this week i am committing to painting and a bit of me time, while hubby is on holidays this week too.
